The artwork

The room comes apart, the work carries on.

The floorboards have split, the plaster is coming off the walls, and something enormous is growing straight up through the middle of the consulting room. The therapist has not moved. He is still taking notes.

That is the joke and it is also the method. In guided sessions the instruction when something difficult arrives is not to stop it or explain it away, but to stay with it and keep paying attention. The three words along the bottom are the whole protocol: presence, curiosity, integration. Nothing about the room coming apart means the work has gone wrong.
