The artwork
Thoughts are weather.
Lie back long enough and the thoughts stop feeling like yours. They turn into weather: something passing overhead, that you can watch without climbing into.
Clinicians call the shift cognitive defusion, the move from being inside a thought to watching one arrive. It is the mechanism underneath most mindfulness training, and it recurs in accounts of psychedelic sessions, where people describe observing their own mental content from a step back rather than being carried along by it.
The skill is unglamorous and it is the one that lasts. Not silencing the sky, just noticing that clouds move. 10% of every sale funds research into psychedelic therapy.
